CROQUET:  How Chris Clarke Does a Sextuple Peel

Chris Clark (UK) explained, in an e-mail on 25 May 2000, how he likes to do a sextuple peel (sxp).

[In the diagrams below, S is striker ball, P is partner ball, O and Q are opponent balls.  Each diagram depicts the court just prior to running the next wicket, and the commentary describes each stroke needed to get in front of the next wicket.]

On your previous turn, you built a four-ball break, ran six wickets, stopped at #1 to avoid giving your opponent a lift, and set a leave.  Your opponent failed to hit in.  You then build a four-ball break with partner (P) as receiver at #2, put opponent (Q) at #3 instead of pivot, went to receiver (O), and split it past #1.
