Turner Ham Factory, Fulks
Run, VA
The entire Turner family has been playing croquet for many years in
Fulks Run, VA, near the West Virginia boarder. Several years ago,
they built a world-class championship croquet court between the Turner
Ham Factory and the Turner Store, both landmarks in the region. The
Turners play American Rules, but Ron has played a little International
Rules.
Robert Fulford played American Rules there a few years ago.
Ron and his father Garnett invited me to play while I was at the Harris
(Bev's maiden name) family reunion in Stauton, VA, about forty five minutes
away. Ron and I played partners against Garnett, and lost -2.
The Turners are great croquet players, nice people, and very hospitable.
I hope someday one (or more) of them will come to Maui, and I can show
them the spirit of Aloha.
