Inspired by the illusions created by artist Sandro del Prete, in particular his work The Gateway to the Fourth Dimension also a coloured pencil piece.

Around 1860 in Great Britain the court lay out for Croquet played at country estates often included a central "Cage & Bell" which would seem to be the last point scored in a game, no doubt the butler appeared once the bell rang. I've not included a bell so my work is more aligned to Kentucky Croquet where there is no bell and the crossed hoops are called the "basket".
