Getting to Maui

If possible, fly directly to Maui at Kahului Airport (OGG). Aloha, American, Hawaiian, and United all have direct flights to Maui. Otherwise, fly to Oahu at Honolulu Airport (HNL), and then connect with an Hawaiian Airlines inter-island flight to Maui. Note that inter-island flights leave Honolulu Airport from a different building than all other flights, and you should take the Wiki Wiki bus to the Inter-Island Terminal.

You may want to come to Hawaii before Croquet at Koele, and spend some time on one or more of the other islands. If you do this, you can take an Hawaiian Airlines inter-island flight to Maui from whichever island you're visiting.

You should plan to arrive on Maui on January 27th (Wednesday) around noon to give you enough time to get to Lanai that afternoon.

You'll be able to return to Maui on February 1st (Monday) morning if you wish.

Getting from Maui to Lanai

If you're not staying on Maui before or after Croquet at Koele, you don't need to rent a car on Maui.

Take the SpeediShuttle from Kahului Airport to Lahaina Harbor. For fastest service, make a reservation ahead of time. After your bags arrive at baggage claim, dial 65 on the courtesy phones near the exit to let SpeediShuttle know you've arrived. Take your bags out of baggage claim, cross the street to the island, and walk to the shuttle bus stop. SpeediShuttle will pick you up there. Allow at least two hours to get your bags, get picked up, and get to Lahaina.

Take the Expeditions Ferry from Lahaina Harbor to Lanai. Be sure to make a reservation, because the ferry is often full! Check in at the ticket booth located on the dock, right across from the Pioneer Inn. The ferry departs Lahaina at 6:45 am, 9:15 am, 12:45 pm, 3:15 pm, and 5:45 pm. The ferry takes about forty five minutes to reach Lanai, and you'll see lots of whales. The sun and wind can be harsh, so try to get a seat in the cabin of the ferry; you can always go on deck for a close look at the whales, or to take a picture.

The Lodge at Koele will have a white van waiting for you at the harbor on Lanai. It will take about thirty minutes to drive to The Lodge at Koele. The five nights of January 27th-31st are included in your entry fee. You may decide to arrive earlier, or stay longer. Take advantage of the special Croquet at Koele rate of $189 per night.

Returning to Maui

The Expeditions Ferry departs from Lanai at 8:00 am, 10:30 am, 2:00 pm, 4:30 pm, and 6:45 pm.
