Robert Fulford of England came from behind to beat South Africa’s Reg Bamford 2-1 in the best-of-three championship match at the International Croquet Invitational on Sunday, June 10, at the Resort at the Mountain.

The finale matched the top-two ranked players in the world with No. 2 Fulford earning the top prize for the second time in the last three years. Rain soaked the course throughout the two-day tournament, forcing players to take extra time on each shot.

“Probably the worst thing for me is the heavy rain – my grip’s not so good,” Fulford said.

He earned $1,500 for the victory.

Jerry Stark placed fourth and was the top American finisher.
