CROQUET NEWS:  Catherine and Alan Morton Visit Maui Croquet Club

Plaque from the Fylde Croquet Club presented to the Maui Croquet Club by Catherine and Alan Morton.

Catherine and Alan "Red Card" Morton of Blackpool, Lancashire, England, UK, visited the Maui Croquet Club on Halloween day.

The Mortons are members of the Fylde Croquet Club in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, UK. They presented the Maui Croquet Club with a beautiful plaque from their club.

Alan played two simulataneous games of Association Croquet against Kerry Ramm and Paul Ramm; Kerry over Alan 15-5; and Paul over Alan 13-8.

Catherine played doubles Golf Croquet against Debbie Jefkin-Elnekave, Robi Elnekave, Denise Reibman, Steve Reibman, and Leo Nikora; Debbie & Leo over Catherine & Robi 7-5, and Denise & Leo over Catherine & Steve 7-4.

The Mortons were very good sports. They played with loaned mallets on a strange court. They triple banked with twelve balls on a three-quarter sized court. Alan had never played in two simultaneous games before, and had never played Advanced Rules before. Catherine played bare-footed for the first time.

A good time was had by all. The Maui Croquet Club enjoyed meeting and playing with Catherine and Alan, and liked hearing stories from the Fylde Croquet Club. We are rooting for them to three-peat in the Longman Cup next year.
